If you are trying to decide which attraction to visit with the family this summer, check out the latest rides to open at two amusement parks within a day’s drive from Annapolis.
The newest thrill at Kings Dominion is Delirium, a powerful, spinning pendulum on which 40 riders are strapped into their seats, facing outward on a giant ring. As their feet dangle, they begin to slowly swing back and forth while the ring starts to rotate. The ride quickly gains momentum and soars to a height of 115 feet at a maximum arc angle of 120 degrees.

Superman Ride of Steel Virtual Reality Coaster is a new ride experience at Six Flags. It combines the rush of the newly refurbished Superman: Ride of Steel roller coaster with wireless headsets that fit over the eyes and allow riders to enter a 360-degree virtual world with high-resolution imagery. Riders soar through Metropolis and fly alongside Superman as he uses his heat vision to destroy Lex Luther and his Lexbots, all while traveling at speeds of up to 73 miles per hour.
Splashwater Falls, a new multi-level water play attraction, is an additional in Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Water Park. It features dozens of slides, nets, sprays, geysers and a super-sized tipping bucket.
