October 2022 Issue- Chesapeake Family Life

October is a busy month and brings with it lots of seasonal fun. Pumpkin patches, corn mazes and haunted houses can provide a nice break from the work at school. See our huge list of seasonal activities.

This month we are introducing Family Home, a new column to show you the projects and renovations that families have undertaken to make their homes more comfortable and functional for them. The personal cubbies and cleat wash in this month’s home are definitely a bonus for a busy athletic family.

And re-introducing Standout Studies, a recognition of students who are making a difference in the community. A Standout Student is someone who is a budding entrepreneur, local leader, environmentalist or innovator whose ideas will change the world.

Instead of one annual event as we’ve done in the past, there will be one Standout Student profiled each month. Rachel Spitzer, a 10th grader at Broadneck High School who combines her artistic talents with fundraising for her favorite non-profits is the October Standout Student.

Don’t miss the Family Favorites. All of you have voted for your favorite family services, restaurants and places to visit. Take a look at the list to find new adventures.
