Ode to the Galentines—One Moore Thing

Here’s to the ladies

The, smart, fierce, brave and kind

On a holiday about love

They are the first that come to mind.

 They are not often thanked

For what they sacrifice and give

For all of the joy and love and the reminders to really live.

They take care of the babies

And do an insane amount whether they work or stay at home

They clean and fold clothes and pay bills while fantasizing about Rome.

They are strong and relentless

They put in full days before they uber the kids and pack the lunch

They deserve the world or a massage or at least a little ladies brunch.

They are the glue

They hold life from falling apart

I’m grateful that the tribe I hold dear are true works of art.

There should be more days to thank them

But for now, this is a start.

Please move over Valentine, there is a new saint in town

It is high time we celebrate the ladies that never let us down

Here’s to the dear Galentines,

There is no need for chocolates, we will take our brunch with a crown.

So thank a lady who has made a difference in your life

Whether a friend, a sister, a mother or a wife.

We all deserve to be seen

That much is truer than true

So be a gem and thank the women that make you, you.

Raise a glass to those who show up time after time

Here’s to the warriors among us we are lucky enough to call Galentines.

Katie has a book out that is a collection of quotes and mic drops to embrace your inner warrior. “Girl Power” is available on Amazon and is the perfect gift for all the warriors in your world.
