Paddle Spa Creek, learn about water quality

Families can enjoy a day of fun on the water at PaddleFEST in Annapolis Saturday, Sept. 17, paddling Spa Creek and learning about conservation efforts while supporting efforts to clean up the creek.

Families can bring their own kayaks, canoes or standup paddleboards or rent ones from Capital SUP.

TGroup paddling on Spa Creek, courtesy Capital SUPake a guided on-water tour of Spa Creek or paddle at your own pace. In addition to learning about the challenges and ongoing efforts to clean up the creek, families can also enjoy activities, food and drink.

PaddleFEST activities are ongoing 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Environmental groups will have booths and activities at the free Eco-Fest.

Both the Eco-Fest and PaddleFEST are at Capital SUP.

Admission to PaddleFEST is $50 for adults who need to rent a paddleboard or $40 with your own. Children younger than 12 are $25.

Tickets include:

  • On-water guided or self tour
  • Food, including barbecue, and beverages
  • Wine and beer for adults
  • Event T-shirt
  • Dry bags for the first 200 ticket holders.

Home base for PaddleFEST and Eco-Fest is Capital SUP, 808 Boucher Ave, Annapolis.

PaddleFest is organized by and benefits Spa Creek Conservancy. Sponsors include The Campbell Foundation and Koons Annapolis Toyota as well as Chesapeake Family, Chesapeake BaySavers, ITekFed, Biohabitats, Annapolis Canoe and Kayak, Capital SUP, MaxSent and Annapolis Hundai.
