Press Release: Chesapeake Family finalist for seven national awards
Parenting Media Association to name winners at March conference

Annapolis, MD Chesapeake Family magazine has been named a finalist in seven categories in the 2012 Parenting Media Association Editorial and Design Awards. PMA is a national trade association representing more than 120 regional parenting publications from the United States, Canada and Australia.
Among the categories Chesapeake Family garnered recognition were overall writing, overall writing in the 2012 Big Book of Education, best service feature for the October 2012 story “Tactics for the ADHD Homework Wars” and best use of multimedia in the article “Hatching a Special Education Experiment” on chesapeakefamily.com. Also recognized was a story profiling three vereran bus drivers.
“Our entire staff should be very pleased with the recognition we have received from PMA for editorial and website excellence,” said Donna Jefferson, publisher of Chesapeake Family. “We’ve all worked hard over the last year and the improvements we’ve made are apparent not only to our readers but also to a nationally recognized board of judges.”
Judges will choose a gold and silver award winner from the group of finalists at the Annual Convention March 7-9, 2013 in Atlanta, Ga.
