Preventing Injuries in Young Athletes

In an effort to keep youth athletes safe, Anne Arundel Medical Center is hosting a seminar to provide injury prevention tips to coaches, trainers and others involved in youth sports.

Held only once each year, the specialty physicians of the AAMC Musculoskeletal Institute will present a seminar for youth coaches, athletic trainers, athletic directors and health care providers that will cover: performance enhancing supplements, overuse injuries in children, concussions, prevention of throwing injuries, sports nutrition and sports drinks, warm-up, cool-down and stretching, prevention of running injuries, player safety in cutting and pivoting sports, ACL injury prevention, core strengthening, equipment safety from the helmet to the shoe.

Wednesday February 23 from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 and the program begins at 6:15. Certificates of attendance for 2.5 hours will be provided.It is free but registration is requested.
