Wye River Upper School

Wye River changes the lives of bright students with learning differences by engaging them in a challenging educational experience that builds their skills and confidence, preparing them for college, career, and life. Some students have ADHD, others dyslexia or anxiety, and they come from across the region to discover their strengths and find the right level of support. Our program ensures a well-rounded experience including morning athletics and the arts, offered within a structure that is low-stress and responsive to the needs of teenagers. Our students gain knowledge and independence through an inquiry-driven, multi-sensory, multi-modal pedagogy, using technology extensively. To support this approach, project-based learning, outcome-based goals, and frequent, applied experiences outside of the classroom highlight our courses. Wye River students find a place where they can belong and be appreciated for all of their gifts and uniqueness, and it makes all the difference–socially, emotionally, and academically.
