Recipe: Blackistone Bloody Mary

Looking for a special Mother’s Day treat? Give Mom brunch and a Blackistone Bloody Mary.

A replica of the original Blackistone Lighthouse sits on St. Clements Island in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. Now part of a state park, it was the landing site of the Ark and the Dove, the two ships that carried the first settlers to Maryland from England in 1634. You can access the island by water taxi in the summer or boat year-round.

For the flavor of Blackistone without leaving your living room, whip up the Blackistone Bloody Mary, courtesy of the Morris Point Restaurant, located in the same neck of the woods of St. Mary’s County, Maryland.

Blackistone Bloody Mary

12 oz. tumbler filled with ice
2 oz. potato vodka
4-5. oz vegetable juice
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Dash of hot sauce
1/2 tsp. white horseradish
Sprinkles of seafood seasoning and celery seed
Couple grinds of peppercorns
Wedge of lemon, squeezed into the glass
Directions
Mix the above ingredients together and garnish with a celery stalk.
Stir with a straw.
