Polar Bear PlungeThe Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 8 at Sandy Point State Park to benefit Special Olympics Maryland.

Participants must raise a minimum of $75 in donations. The fun starts at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis. Registration runs 8 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. The Pee Wee & Family Plunge is at 11 a.m. and mass Plunges are at 12, 1 and 2 p.m.

Plunge personnel are working hard to provide a fun event for the rescheduled Plunge. The stage will be set up and will feature music. There will be lunch for all plungers. Additionally, there will be prizes to giveaway including a Kayak from Rommel Outdoors.

Plungers will receive a “Giveaway” sheet at registration and upon verification of visiting five locations on the grounds they will be able to turn in the “sheet” and entered for a chance to win drawings for the prizes The first 2,500 plungers who turn in their “Giveaway” sheet on Saturday will receive a commemorative “I PLUNGED ON!…” t-shirt.

Plunge Sweatshirts will be on-site and available to pick up. Other Plunge merchandise will also be available to purchase on-site.

If you received or purchased a parking or bus pass for the original Plunge, those passes will still be valid for March 8th. The Polar Express shuttle will only be transporting passengers to Sandy Point State Park from Navy-Marine Corps Stadium and Kent Island High School.
