Race a rubber duck to help those in need in the fifth annual Quacks for Backpacks May 21 at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville.
The rubber duck race and family carnival will include duck racing, games, music, face painting and other activities. Prizes will be awarded to the top ducks racing on a special water course built by Homestead Gardens.
The family carnival at the event will include games, face painting, music, food and refreshments.
Admission is free, but there is a $10 fee per duck to participate in the race. Proceeds benefit the Bountiful Backpack program, which provides nourishing food over the weekend for needy elementary school children during the school year.
