Shoes kids won’t kick off — Baby Booty

Originals MartinNavy IMG 0919Shoes are generally one of my favorite items to shop for — until I started shopping for toddler shoes.

The first pair of shoes I tried on Ethan was a pair of Pedipeds that I borrowed from a friend of mine. She had loved them for her son, but as we all know, kiddos grow out of shoes at an alarming rate. The shoes hadn’t lasted more than a couple months for him so she let me try them with Ethan. We loved them. Those shoes were one of only a couple pairs that Ethan couldn’t kick or pull off easily.

I was excited that amidst the gear to be tested for Baby Booty was a pair of Pedipeds from their Originals spring/summer line.

The Pedipeds Originals feature flexible, soft-soles as recommended for infants and toddlers by pediatricians and podiatrists. The design closely mimics barefoot walking which is good for little feet.

“The Pediped shoes are great because normally, my son hates wearing shoes. But he doesn’t even try to rip these shoes off,” says mom tester Nina Dickson of Annapolis. She also liked that the leather was soft and flexible.

This season for the girls, Pedipeds have added 12 new styles to their Originals line including the Louisa and Lacee with brighter styles and the Isabella and Betty to cover signature styles. For the boys in the Originals line, Martin is a breathable style for outdoor adventures.

The Originals line retails at $35 and is available in children sizes newborn to 24 months. You can purchase the shoes on the Pedipeds website or locally at the Lil Lamb Shop in Annapolis.

Originally from New England, Heidi and her husband settled in Annapolis in 2010. Nowadays, when she’s not chasing her overly-energetic toddler son around, she works as a marketing manager for a local boutique marketing agency and is involved in the Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. Outside of the office, you can often find Heidi hunting for the next great deal in baby gear, training for a race or enjoying her family and all of the food and culture the greater Annapolis area has to offer.
