Pair painting with penguins during the popular “Where the Wild Things Art” sip-and-paint evening events at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.
Participants are likely to spot a penguin — or 50 — before sitting at an easel in the Penguin Coast Education Center to create the night’s featured painting with step-by-step guidance from a Painted Palette Baltimore artist.
The first group of these classes sold out in four days, according to the zoo, so don’t wait to purchase tickets for one of the next Wednesday night dates:
• June 17
• July 15
• Aug. 19
• Sept. 2
• Sept. 23
All paint night events are 5:30-8 p.m., with instruction appropriate for ages 15 and older.
Admission is $45 per person, which includes one complimentary beverage (water, soda, beer or wine), instructional-lead class, canvas, paint brushes, easel, aprons and up-close photo opportunities with one of the zoo’s Animal Ambassadors.
A cash bar also will be available for those 21 and over. Pre-registration is required. Purchase tickets at the event page on the Maryland Zoo website.
