Six Flags America opens for season with new Mardi Gras rides

French Quarter Flyer Key ArtWSix Flags America in Bowie opens for the season this weekend with a new Mardi Gras section and a new roller coaster in the works.

Six Flags will kick off the 2014 season on Saturday, April 5, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will be open weekends in April and May, including Spring Break, April 12 – 21.

Springtime visitors will discover a newly themed Mardi Gras section featuring a family-friendly, flying ride dubbed French Quarter Flyers. Memorial Day weekend, the park will debut its ninth roller coaster, Ragin Cajun, a spinning, fast-track roller coaster. Both rides will be located in the festive Mardi Gras section of the park.
