Creating a Rope Grommet

Learn how to create a rope grommet
What you need:
- -3-strand rope
- 3.5x-4x longer than desired circumference of finished grommet.
- Recommended diameter range is 3/8″ to 1″ –
- 55″ length is usually plenty
- Natural fiber rope is highly preferred due to its “memory” of the lay, making the project much easier. Hemp, Manila, Sisal, etc. Stiffer poly or nylon rope will also work.
- Roll of masking/painter’s tape
- Knife/scissors to cut rope

Balloon Hovercraft*

Make your own hovercraft with just a few household materials! This balloon-powered toy will give a new meaning to “zoom.” As air flows out of the balloon, it’ll start to hover! Try giving it a push and watch it slide around. You can even pass it across the table with your family and keep blowing the balloon up for endless fun!
What you need:

What you need:
- Tape
- Scissors
- Cardstock paper
- Standard drinking straws
- Pearl drink straws or bigger diameter straws
- Yarn or twine
Grow Your Own Geode*

Here’s a basic recipe to make beautiful Geodes in your kitchen. The color of the pipe cleaner will determine the color of the geode.
What you need:
- 3 Tablespoons Borax
- 1 Cup boiling water
- Pipe cleaners
- Large jar, glass or pitcher
- Dish cloth
- Skewer, butter knife, chop stick
- Fishing line or curling ribbon (not string)
- Patience – the longer
Puking Pumpkins

Carve your pumpkin, add a little baking soda and vinegar to see a great reaction.
What you need:
- Carved pumpkin
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 2 cups of white vinegar
- Food coloring (for the puke)
