The Maryland No Child Left Inside Coalition has called on the Chesapeake Bay Program Executive Council to strengthen its commitments to make education of children a priority in the Bay’s recovery through three specific actions.
“We urge the Council to build upon existing commitments, and to take concrete steps to prepare the next generation to be lifelong stewards of this national treasure,” said Don Baugh, director of MDNCLI and vice president of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. “Environmental and outdoor education for young citizens in the watershed has been considered key to the recovery of the Chesapeake since restoration efforts started, but we can do more to strengthen those opportunities watershed-wide.”
