EYC lights paradeGet out the art supplies and have the kids enter the 2016 Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade Student Artists Poster Contest.

Students from kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to enter their artwork into the contest and possibly win up to $150. The winning artwork might grace the 2015 EYC Lights Parade promotional materials such as t-shirts and posters. There will be one winner in three age groups — elementary school, middle school and high school.

The artwork should be two dimensional and 8.5 by 11 inches. It must incorporate the Eastport Yacht Club’s official icon and convey a sense of Annapolis, the Lights Parade and its festive quality.

Artwork entries can be submitted through Oct. 7 and should be delivered to EYC. Make sure your contact information is on the back of the artwork. Only one entry per person is allowed. The winning artists will be selected by early October. An artists reception will be held Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. for the winning artists and the artwork will be displayed.

The winning artwork will also be displayed on the EYC Lights Parade Facebook page. First place prize in each age group is $150 with a $100 honorable mention prize. EYC will select which winning poster will be used for the 2016 Lights Parade promotional material. The artists names will be incorporated into various EYC promotions.

Artwork should be sent to Eastport Yacht Club, 317 First Street, Annapolis, MD 21403. For details visit the Eastport Yacht Club website. Questions should be emailed to eyclightsparade1@gmail.com
