While you and your family have been out visiting local and state parks while socially distancing this spring and summer, your kids may have gotten a taste for outdoor fun.
Now you can challenge your children to create their idea of their own State Park in your backyard with this challenge from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Your at-home park can provide a place to enjoy the outdoors, see more birds and butterflies, try new activities and have plenty of fun this summer!
You can take the Create Your Own State Park Summer Challenge by using DNR’s interactive pdfs to completing challenges along the way, including making key areas of a park like a birding area, woodland area, picnic area, etc., as well as making trails and activities.
After completing 10 (or more!) activities, submit your responses before September 7, 2020 via this Google Form (https://tinyurl.com/createyourown2020) to receive an official Certificate from Maryland State Parks and be entered to win Summer Challenge Prizes.
In addition to the Google Form, you will need to email 3-5 photos (photo documentation of completion) to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Head to Maryland DNR’s site to get all of the details and challenges!
