With the weather finally cooling down, why not celebrate the reprieve with an outing to D.C.?

washingtondcDuring the busy school year, it’s easy to forget that we have the nation’s capital in our backyard. Take today to jump on the D.C. Metro or MARC train and explore the city, from the amazing variety of exhibits at the museums to the famous monuments. Admission is free at all Smithsonian museums, and they have great kid-friendly exhibits and activites, particularly at the Air and Space Museum and Museum of Natural History. You can also take the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument, or take a stroll along the National Mall.
