This summer, take the kids for a cold treat along Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail—officially open for its 2020 season.
Now in its eighth year, the trail draws participants from around the globe.
The Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail is made up of ten Maryland dairies that produce and sell their ice cream directly to consumers. The trail stretches more than 290 miles from Ocean City in the east to Washington County in the west.
This summer will be a bit different, of course, in that you should check in with an individual business before you head out, in case they have new hours or procedures, but there are still 10 spots for delicious treats.
Of course, you’ll want to complete the passport and enter the Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Champion Trailblazer contest, in which participants can take a selfie at each of the ten spots. Anyone who completes the challenge will be entered to win a $50 to the creamery of their choice and DVD copies of Season 7 of the Maryland Public Television original series, “Maryland Farm & Harvest.” (No purchase necessary).
Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail is a joint promotion supported by the Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, the local affiliate of the National Dairy Council. For more details visit the Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail website.
