Travel through space at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the National Air and Space Museum’s companion in Chantilly, Virginia.
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center has two large hangars with thousands of aviation and space artifacts on display, including aircraft, models, photographs, and more. The collection includes the space shuttle Discovery and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the world’s fastest jet.
You can still see exhibits on commercial aviation, space science, World War II aviation, human spaceflight and plenty more. Check here to see what’s open.
The museum also has an observation tower, which provides a 360-degree view of Dulles Airport and the surrounding areas. Kids will love watching the planes take off and land.
For an added cost, check out a movie in the IMAX theater or take a ride in one of their flight simulators.
