As the summer days are winding down, celebrate National Toasted Marshmallow Day with a fire.
Whether you like your marshmallow golden brown and fluffy or robustly blackened, grab a bag of marshmallows and maybe some s’more materials (graham crackers and chocolate, though I highly recommend substituting plain chocolate with a peanut butter cup) and get toasting. Have a backyard fire in a fire pit, visit a local or state park that has fire rings or even use a grill at home to roast your marshmallows.
Check out the Maryland State Park link or the Anne Arundel county link to find a park near you. Make sure you confirm they have fire rings or pits and available fire wood. The park system does not allow visitors to bring wood from home to reduce the likelihood of spreading the invasive insect, the emerald ash borer.
