Must-Sees
Downtown Frederick itself is a great place to walk around, with plenty of galleries, wineries, distilleries and other places to eat and shop. There are also many places in Frederick to experience the performing and fine arts, such as the Delaplaine Arts Center, Weinberg Center for the Arts, Maryland Ensemble Theatre and New Spire Arts.
There are also plenty of opportunities for fun and adventure. The roller coasters at Adventure Park USA are a common site while driving to and from Frederick, and the park itself offers both indoor and outdoor family-friendly fun. Tree Trekkers and Harpers Ferry Adventure Center are great spots for outdoor adventuring, with aerial courses built in the trees.

Local Nature
Frederick County has several state parks that are great for hiking. Gambrill State Park is home to the High Knob, which offers stunning views of the Frederick and Middletown Valleys. The park’s Rock Run area is a popular fishing spot, since fishing licenses are not required to fish there.
Cunningham Falls State Park, nestled in the Catoctin Mountains, has many waterfalls to hike to. This park is divided into two regions: one that focuses more on nature and includes a lake and campsite, and one more developed area that houses an aviary and the historic Catoctin Iron Furnace.
