Visit the Locust Grove Nature Center in the park for environmental education programs, trail walks, nature films and exhibits.

Even dogs can enjoy the outdoors as they run freely in Cabin John’s dog park.

If the summer heat becomes too much to bear, cool off inside at the Cabin John Ice Rink, where you can rent skates and enjoy the cool atmosphere all year long.

The rink has different sessions daily for public skating, so be sure to call ahead to check availability.

On Thursdays, public skate is from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and costs $7 for ages 11 and up, $5.50 for children ages 5-10 and $3.50 for tots ages 3-4. Skate rentals are $3.50 per session. Thursdays also offer $7 skate from 4:30-6:30 p.m. where the $7 covers admission in addition to skates.

For more information about skating schedules, visit the Cabin John Ice Rink website and for general information about the park, visit the Cabin John Regional Park website.
