Home Education School Survey for parents of special education students in Maryland

Survey for parents of special education students in Maryland

specialEdcucationIf you have a child receiving special education services in the Maryland public schools, the school system would like you to take a survey to let them know how they are doing.

The Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services at the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) are inviting all parents or guardians of children ages 3 to 21 who are receiving special education and related services through their local school system to participate in the 2014 Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey.

The purpose of the survey is to determine how well the schools are partnering with families and promoting parent involvement in each child’s education. Feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in the local school systems. The Survey is anonymous so parents should not write any personally identifiable information.

The survey will be mailed to families between April 7 and May 30, 2014, or parents can access the Special Education Parent Involvement Survey online. There is also a short video explaining the survey. The survey is to help guide efforts to improve special education and related services.

To learn more about the survey, contact Nancy Feeley, MSDE, at 410-767-0738 or
