Soak in a little music, buy some crafts and let the kids get their face painted all while wondering down the middle of West Street this Sunday, May 5, and every first Sunday of the month through October.
Annapolis’ First Sunday Arts Festival will return for it’s 12th season just in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. From noon until 5 p.m. a portion of historic West Street above State Circle and around the corner into Whitmore Park will be closed to traffic and transformed into a festival of live music, dance, art and crafts. There will be more than 100 arts and crafts booths — many geared toward children.
Performers scheduled for this month’s festival include Dan Haas, who blends pop rock, and soul; Latif & Banat Middle Eastern Dance Troupe, which entertains with belly dancing; and Rob Levit Trio, a mix of jazz, world, classical and funk music.
The event is free, perfect for families and open to pets on leashes. There will be five more festivals on June 2, July 7, Aug. 4, Sept. 1, and Oct. 6. For more information, visit the First Sunday Arts Festival website or call 443-333-9067.
