Teen art show looking for artists

Teen Art ShowArtists 13 to 18 have a few more days to enter their artwork in the “Artists on the Rise: A Teen Juried Exhibition” at Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel.

Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 4. The exhibition is open to teen artists from Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. who attend public, private or home school. All media will be considered for the exhibition. Artwork entered will be screened on CD only. Digital images must be submitted in JPG format, at a minimum 300 dpi resolution and no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches. Files should be labeled: “A-LastName-FirstName-Title of work” and CDs labeled with artist’s full name.

Entries will be judged Feb. 13 and selected artwork must be delivered to the art center Feb. 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition will be March 2 to 28. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be March 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. Jurors will award prices based on artistic excellence. Cash awards will be given including first place, $200, second place, $150 and third place $100.
