It’s Tobacco-Free Kids Week through Feb. 16 and for the 18th consecutive year, youth across Anne Arundel County are rallying against smoking.
The highlight of the week will be a T-shirt design contest, with the top winners in three age groups getting iPod Touches and custom-printed T-shirts for their sponsoring groups.
During Tobacco-Free Kids Week, about 130 county groups will hold anti-tobacco activities for more than 71,000 youths. The event began in 1996 and is the county’s premier smoking-prevention event for youth. It is part of Smoking Stinks, a Learn To Live program from the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. More information can be found on the Tobacco-Free Kids Week page of the Smoking Stinks website.
