North County High School Principal Dr. William Heiser was named 2013 High School Principal of the Year and Southern Middle School Principal Jason Dykstra was named 2013 Middle School Principal of the Year.
Heiser, who has been at North County since 2010, and Dykstra, who has been at Southern since 2008, will now be considered for the national honors in their respective categories by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
“I am truly humbled by this award,” said Heiser, who has spent 15 years in education and worked in Anne Arundel County as an assistant principal at Annapolis High School before moving to North County. “It is a sincere privilege to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of North County. This award recognizes all of our hard work and shared commitment to achieving greatness.”
