There are two renewed playgrounds at Annapolis’ Truxtun Park now ready for play.
A few years ago, playground equipment was removed and stored to make room for the building of the “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park. That equipment is back and fully functional, according to a release from Annapolis Recreation and Parks.
The staff is calling the new play area “Plumer Playground” in honor of LeeAnn Plumer, former Annapolis Recreation and Parks director. The playground has two slides, two swings for ages 5 to 12, a net climber and a rock wall.
There is also brand new playground equipment at the park located by the Truxton Park Pool known as “Pats” Park Playground. The equipment is made of engineered wood fiber, plastic and metal. There are separate sections for 2- to 5-year-olds and 5- to 12-year-olds. New to the playground is a seesaw for 2-5 year olds and a double bay swing set with four swings, two for 2- to 5-year-olds and two swings for 5- to 12-year-olds.
