VetDog 5K Benefits Wounded Veterans

The 1st Annual VetDog 5K run will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD.

Please join America’s VetDogs® graduates, corporate sponsors, active servicemembers, and veterans from all eras for the 1st Annual America’s VetDogs® 5K Run/Walk.
America’s VetDogs® provides guide dogs for veterans who are blind; service dogs for those with disabilities other than blindness; physical therapy dogs to work with amputees in military and VA hospitals; and combat stress control dogs to be deployed overseas. When wounded servicemembers are recovering from their injuries, they are surrounded by the people who have shared their experiences in battle. But when they return home, they leave this support system behind and are faced with new challenges as they transition back to civilian life. Not only does a VetDog provide assistance with daily activities, it serves as a social bridge: people focus on the dog, not the veteran’s disabilities.
These brave men and women have returned wounded but unbowed. They have served our country with honor and integrity; now it is our turn to serve them. When you rise to the challenge by participating in the 1st Annual America’s VetDogs® 5K Run/Walk, you will make a difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much. Please join us in support of America’s VetDogs®.
