On Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, families can visit many museums in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia free of charge with a downloadable ticket thanks to Museum Day Live!
During this special annual celebration, museums nationwide emulate the spirit of Smithsonian Institution’s facilities, which offer free admission daily. This year the event is partnering with Microsoft to create an interactive lesson using Minecraft: Education Edition.
More than 1,300 museums have signed up to participate, including The Chesapeake Children’s Museum in Annapolis; Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore; the Newseum and National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.; Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater; and many others.
