Volunteer opportunities for kids during the holiday season

The Salvation Army

The red kettle is an integral part of the holiday season, and millions of dollars are donated each year to help needy families, seniors, and the homeless. Volunteers are needed for The Salvation Army’s 2011 holiday programs. Children who wish to volunteer must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers are needed to stand at a kettle site while ringing a bell and wishing shoppers a joyous holiday season. Children can work with their school, church, or other organization to collect non-perishable items for the food pantry. Volunteers can also help in the Toy Shop, sorting the Angel Tree gift donations.
