Waterfront Partnership Launches Family Fun Fridays!

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore invites families to enjoy all the sites the historic waterfront has to offer this summer with its Family Fun Fridays campaign. This is a great time to explore Baltimore attractions – both old and new – at a discount, from the National Aquarium to the Maryland Science Center along with historic ships and a new electric pirate floatilla!.

Family Fun Fridays includes the following special offers the second Friday of each month from May through September (May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14):

Historic Ships: $5 admission to USS Constellation and USS Torsk after 5:00 p.m.; all general admission tickets to visit these two ships are $5 from 5:00 p.m. to last boarding at 7:00 p.m. (The rest of the sites will be closed).

The Maryland Science Center: Admission for a discounted rate of $10 on Fridays that includes an IMAX showing, planetarium showings, access to exhibit halls and the chance to encounter live science up close and personal.

Summer Socials: For a sixth year, the Waterfront Partnership will bring free entertainment to the waterfront through the Summer Socials series, sponsored by Constellation, at West Shore Park. The evening events, which are from 5:00-8:00 p.m., include live music and children’s activities as well as food and beverages for purchase from local food trucks and vendors including Dooby’s Gypsy Queen and the Cream Cruiser. 

The following specials are being offered every Friday.

The National Aquarium: Get access to the aquarium’s award-winning exhibits for half the price of general admission during Half-Price Friday Nights, brought to you by M&T Bank. Half-Price Friday Nights runs year-round, allowing you to spend any (or every) Friday evening after 5:00 p.m. with their 20,000-plus animal residents. Tickets are available online or Friday evenings on-site. Offer available Fridays year-round.

Port Discovery: Enjoy fun programs and hands-on experiences at Port Discovery Children’s Museum. $13 per person from 1:00 p.m. to close on Fridays from May through September 14, 2018 with the code “Waterfront”; Not valid with any other discounts, coupons or offerings; not valid online; child must accompany adult. Offer available Fridays year-round.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not!: Three-way combo ticket for $19.99 per adult and $13.99 per child (ages 4-11). Includes Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium, Ripley’s Moving Theater, and Ripley’s Marvelous Mirror Maze (normally $29.99 per adult/$21.99 per child). Mention “Twilight Special” to receive special rate. Offer available Fridays year-round.

Pure Play Every Friday: Little hands love little things. Let your kids’ imagination soar with loose parts play. With a play facilitator on hand, little ones (and big ones too!) can participate in play that stimulates their curiosity and gives free reign to their imaginations and creativity. Offered at West Shore Park Fridays, from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Offer available Fridays from May 18 – August 17.

Top of the World Observation Level: Located on the 27th floor of the World Trade Center, the world’s tallest pentagonal building, Top of the World has expansive windows that provide a 360-degree view of Baltimore’s skyline, harbor, and beyond. Stationed binoculars and photo-map guides point out local attractions, sites and neighborhoods. Open Fridays from 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and free for children three and under. Offer available Fridays year-round.

chessieChessie Paddle Boats: Scotland may have it’s ‘Nessie,’ but only at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor will you spot a Chesapeake Bay ‘Chessie’ Monster. These colorful boats hold up to four occupants. $20 per half-hour rental. (All passengers must be at least two years old and weigh at least 35 lbs. Children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by an adult.) Offer available Fridays throughout the summer.

Electric Pirate Boats: Kids will delight in riding on the Inner Harbor’s newest attraction. Grab the family and captain your own mini Pirate Ship, no pedaling required! One to four passengers: $25, five passengers: $30, six passengers: $35. Offer available Fridays throughout the summer.
