There’s plenty of fun things to do in the Chesapeake area this weekend, from a kid-friendly homesteading class to Annapolis’s annual jazz festival!

Kidsteading Class

Kids can learn to garden, farm and work the land at this unique homeschooling class. It can also meet certain homeschooling science requirements. Parents are welcome to stay and learn!

Annapolis Jazz and Roots Festival

Nov. 7-9, 14-16

Locations throughout Annapolis

This annual festival, which first started in 2022, celebrates Annapolis’s former status as a cultural hub for jazz and R&B musicians. Attendees can enjoy live performances from a variety of local singers and dancers, and even lectures from some visual artists.

Illuminate Annapolis Festival

Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Anne Arundel Community College – Schwartz Student Union | 101 College Pkwy, Arnold, MD 21012

If you’re interested in holistic medicine or the more mystical side of life, this wellness festival is a great opportunity to explore everything the Chesapeake area has to offer. In addition to perusing products from local vendors, attendees can get tarot and astrology readings and participate in workshops. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
