Most websites say that there’s only one venomous spider in Maryland — the black widow, but Melanie Greenhill knows differently. A brown recluse bit her daughter recently.
Luckily, the Severn mother reacted quickly. When a bruise developed around a little red mark on her daughter’s hand shortly after she had been handling a spider, Greenhill took her to the nearest clinic. Had she waited much longer to seek treatment, things could have been much worse, the doctor told Greenhill.
