Smoking Stinks contest winners

Tobacco-Free Kids Week enlists schools and other youth-centered groups to reach kids with anti-tobacco activities that include anti-tobacco pledges, displays, trivia contests and murals. This year’s event saw 144 County groups hold anti-tobacco activities for more than 74,000 youths.

Contestants in elementary, middle and high school age groups designed shirts with anti-tobacco themes, and a panel of judges selected the top entries. The winners of the T-shirt Design Contest are:

Elementary Age: Ryanna Heintzelman from Brooklyn Park Elementary

Middle School Age: Tori Collins from George Fox Middle School,
Pasadena,

High School Age: Emily Thomas from Northeast High School, Pasadena,

Winners in each category will get their designs printed on custom T-shirts for themselves and their sponsoring groups. The winners will also receive iPods. There were 31 entries in this year’s contest, and all entrants will receive Smoking Stinks drawstring bags and a participation certificate.

All designs are posted on the Showcase page of the Smoking Stinks website.
