World champion youth cowboy hails from Maryland
While other boys his age were tossing footballs or baseballs, Spencer Bramble was in his barn roping a headless, legless dummy wooden calf. Hour after hour.
The work paid off for the Queen Anne’s County teen. He won the youth world champion in tie-down roping last summer.
“I must have been an odd duck when I was little, I guess,” Bramble says. “I don’t know what it is. … I’m the only one that rodeos in Queen Anne’s.”
“He is a rare breed in this part of the country,” says his father, David Bramble. “Everything else around here is football, baseball, soccer. … He’s accomplished a lot from being where we’re located.”
