Do you already have midnight screening tickets to “The Hunger Games” movie, which opens Friday? Have you been rereading the novels to get ready? Add another piece to your paraphernalia repertoire with the ingeniously crafted “The Hunger Games” nail polish collection from China Glaze.

Rejoice, “The Hunger Games” are here! After months of hype—scenes released online, trailers teased during the MTV Video Music Awards, a mall tour across the United States—the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ young adult novel finally hits theaters Friday. Make sure to check out our review!
But you can show your “Hunger Games” love publicly with China Glaze’s Capitol Colours nail polish collection, inspired by the 12 districts in Collins’ “The Hunger Games” novel and its two sequels, “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay.” In case you haven’t read them, the novels take place in a dystopian future where North America has been transformed into the nation Panem, which is ruled by the luxurious, corrupt Capitol, where the president lives. The 12 surrounding districts are mostly poor and oppressed, each known for one specific commodity or product, and are forced by the Capitol every year to provide two of their youths to slaughter one another in a reality TV-style tournament.
Each polish in this collection is inspired by the specialty of each district. In “The Hunger Games,” which maps how District 12 teenager Katniss Everdeen becomes a symbol of hope for the people of Panem, her ally Cinna tells her to “make an impression” in order to curry favor with supporters. With these shades, you’ll be able to do the same.
Although Capitol Colours was briefly called off because images of the polish bottles leaked online before they were finalized, China Glaze’s collection in partnership with film studio Lionsgate is available now. And yes, I can imagine you fighting to the death for them. They’re that good.
Read on for bottle and swatch pictures! And, one reader will win two polishes from the collection, Dress Me Up and Stone Cold—leave a comment with your email address or like this post on Facebook, and you’ll be eligible! Then check back in with About Face next week, when we’ll announce the winner.
